Pastor Dave Willis
Orrell Park Baptist Church has always been Dave's home church. He has always attended there owing to both his parents being Christians and active members at Orrell.
At the age of 16 the gospel message became a reality in his life when he accepted Jesus as his Saviour and Lord. Since then, it has been a great adventure in his walk with Jesus. At the age of 18 he was sure that God placed on his heart the desire for 'full time' Christian work. From the age of 21 he was leading the youth work at Orrell as a volunteer and later took on the children's work as well.
In 1994 the church called him to a salaried position as 'Youth and Children's Pastor'. For 4 years that work was Dave's main responsibility - but owing to the illness of our previous minister Rev W R Cullen, at the end of 1998 he found himself in the position of 'Pastor'. In September 2002, Pastor Will Williams joined us in our work as the Senior Pastor, both men feel a great privilege in working together for the Lord at Orrell Park Baptist Church.
All through these year's Dave's wife Joanne, has stood with him and been a great support. They have two boys, Jonathan and Caleb. They are a great delight to Dave and Jo, and they have already learnt much from the boys!
Dave is also a Parent Governor at Rice Lane Junior school and he works for Christians in Sport, assisting with the Youth work. He has recently taken up running and has completed marathons in Dublin, Athens, Barcelona and Budapest and would love to run the one in New York. Dave also enjoys football, supporting Liverpool, and plays golf when he has the time.
