About OPBC: Meet the Pastors
Pastor Dave Willis
Orrell Park Baptist Church has always been my home church. I have always attended there owing to my parents both being
christians and active members at Orrell. At the
age of 16 the gospel message became a reality in my life when I accepted Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. Since then, it
has been a great adventure in my walk with Jesus.
At the age of eighteen I was sure that God placed on my heart the desire for 'full time' Christian work. From the age of
21 I was heading up the youth work at Orrell as a
volunteer and took on the children's work as well some years later. Eight years ago the church called me to a salaried
position within the church as 'Youth and Children's
Pastor.
For four years this was my main responsibility - but owing to the illness of our previous minister Rev WR Cullen at the
end of 1998 I found myself in the position of 'Pastor.'
Over the next few years my Youth and Children's role evolved into a role of leading the church owing to the circumstances
we found ourselves in and during this period of
time it was recognised by the leaders and the church that my role had changed so much that the role of Pastor was now my
responsibility.
We have moved forward in many ways over these last few years and I'm glad to say prepared the ground for another Pastor -
Will Williams who joined us in the work at
Orrell in September 2002. Will has the senior position amongst us - but we both feel a great privilege in working for the
Lord together in the place he has called us to.
All through these years, Joanne - my wife of 11 years has stood with me and been a great support to me in many ways. We
have two boys - Jonathan born in June 1998
and Caleb born in July 2001. They are a great delight to us and have already taught us much in there young days.
Pastor Will Williams
Will was born in Liverpool 41 years ago and is a true "scouser" from the red half of the city! He lived with his family in
the Norris Green area and attended Maghull Baptist Church for the first 26 years of his life. Will was a very active member
of the Church being heavily involved in the Youth ministry in particular. He became a Christian as a youngster and was
baptised in December 1977. It was at this time that he first felt the prompting of the Lord towards "full-time" ministry
- but not yet!

It was to be a further 10 years before Will was eventually led to study at Birmingham Bible Institute. After graduation
from BBI he was called to serve the Lord at Esher Green Baptist Church in Surrey as their Youth Pastor for the next
5 years. The ministry which was which was begun there has been used by God to lead many Young people to Christ.
Towards the end of 1994 Will began to sense that the Lord was moving him on from Esher. After much prayer the Lord led him
back up to Liverpool to work with the Liverpool City Mission as Pastor to the folk at Northwood Chapel in Kirkby. Will was
there for 6 and a half years, once again the Lord blessed his ministry in the church and also in the wider work of LCM.
At the beginning of October 2002 Will began his ministry as Pastor here at Orrell Park Baptist Church joining Pastor
Dave Willis. Will's main role will be to oversee the Preaching Teaching and Care Ministry at Orrell Park. Will has been
married to D'reen for 10 years and they have two children Beth and Charlotte.
